Hazey Jane are an Indie-Folk quartet from Hackney, London. Their mesmerising songs combine traditional folk storytelling with arena sized pop hooks, swooning four part vocal harmonies with fingerpicked acoustic motifs and delicate electric guitar lines. Indebted to Nick Drake, CSNY and John Prine, the band breathe fresh air into London's burgeoning folk scene.
Bobby and Laurent met at Secondary School, playing their first show together aged 14. The duo continued to write and perform into their early twenties before Paul and Connor joined in 2014 to expand on the band's acoustic arrangements.
The quartet subsequently familiarized themselves with London’s most charming underground venues before conceiving their own live music event ‘Folk on the Downs’, hosting over 35 original acts to date.
Hazey Jane’s debut EP ‘Us On A Wire’ was released in August 2016 . On the back of ‘Us On A Wire’, the band independently booked their inaugural headline tour of the UK, selling out venues across the southeast. Produced by Marcel Van Limbeek (Tori Amos) and Sander Van Laere (Micheal Kiwanuka), this five-track release enthused Charlotte Harry of Vulture Hound magazine to proclaim, “Hazey Jane are a band that are ready, they will be great”.
